Food trucks tickling taste buds
PEOPLE have had their first taste of the City of Wanneroo’s food truck trial.
The mobile vendors have been visiting parks in Girrawheen, Koondoola, Alexander Heights, Madeley, Landsdale, Wanneroo, Mindarie and Quinns Rocks.
Following a council resolution on December 6, two models of operation form part of the six-month trial.
The first runs in the South ward, with one operator organising the trucks, while the other model in all wards requires registered food truck owners to organise co-ordination and rostering themselves for the approved hours and locations.
Landsdale resident Peter Jenkins is managing model one and has signed up four vendors, which operate Friday to Monday evenings at Shelvock Park in Koondoola, Girrawheen’s Blackmore Park and Highview Park in Alexander Heights. He has another 10 applications being processed and aims to offer three main meal food trucks per night.
Mr Jenkins said there had been a great public response. People can provide feedback on the trial at tinyurl.com/hv3g7uf.
