Carnaby ‘crew’ set to welcome pupils
EXCITEMENT is building at a new Landsdale school as staff prepare to welcome students for the first time.
Carnaby Rise Primary School principal Karen Giacomucci said there was a “real buzz” ahead of the first school day tomorrow.
“We’re all so excited and really looking forward to day one,” she said.
There are more than 240 children enrolled from kindergarten to Year 6 but student numbers were “growing every single day”.
The school will have a focus on early childhood education through its nature playground, as well as arts and science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
“The technology is state-ofthe art because it’s all new,” Ms Giacomucci said.
“We’ve got a really fast internet service.”
She said a large number of teaching applications were received, with 17 staff employed, including two graduate teachers.
“We’ve got a diverse range of skilled teachers from across the State,” she said. good,
