Wanneroo Times - - Opinion -

LAST week Woodvale reader Gawie Vermeulen expressed his disapproval of a police car parked in Reid Promenade in which there was no obvious emergency and no ticket was displayed.

He sent in a picture (see below) and said while time-restricted parking was meant to relieve congestion and allow everyone an opportunity to park, police parking without paying was “robbing the public of that luxury”.

The Wanneroo Times contacted a police representative for comment, who said: “Police officers on duty in marked police vehicles do not need to pay for parking tickets.

“They are of course required to park in designated parking bays unless it is an emergency situation.”
