THIS year marks 35 years since Gordon Rowland died at Claremont Speedway and on February 4, he was honoured at Pinjar Park with the annual Gordon Rowland Memorial meeting for 125ccc junior solo riders.

A strong field of riders came together for the event, with Brad Gordon adding his name to the winners’ shield.

Gordon had just returned from the national championships in NSW where he came second in the Best Pairs meeting with SA rider Jack Sadler.

Not far behind him was last year’s winner Declan Killeen, with Chris Bogdan rounding out the podium in third.

The event also featured the 500cc solos with Jarryd Ziedas winning, unbeaten from younger brother Kobee Ziedas and Carley Gittus.

In the junior sidecar division, Jack and Adam Fewster also raced unbeaten to win from Scott Topping and Morgan Cornwell and Jake Harvey and Tyler Solomon, who pulled out after one race because of bike problems.

And in the senior sidecars, Rocky Bryan and Matt Young were unbeaten ahead of Jason Roser and Jake Lee and Tony Shield and Ash Brown.

The next event at Pinjar Park Speedway is a Best Pairs meeting for seniors and juniors on February 18.
