Top blood donor lead­ing by ex­am­ple

CRAIGIE res­i­dent Chris Le Juge De Se­grais is lead­ing by ex­am­ple af­ter mak­ing her 100th blood do­na­tion.

She has been Wa­ter Cor­po­ra­tion’s blood do­na­tion co-or­di­na­tor since 2011 and helped the util­ity win the Aus­tralian Red Cross Blood Ser­vice’s Red25 cam­paign cor­po­rate cat­e­gory for the past six years.

The pro­gram also awarded her co-or­di­na­tor of the year in 2013 and 2015.

“Our work to­gether as a team at Wa­ter Cor­po­ra­tion has made a big dif­fer­ence to the lives of can­cer pa­tients, burns sur­gi­cal and trauma pa­tients, peo­ple with im­mune dis­or­ders and many oth­ers,” she said.

Ms Le Juge De Se­grais en- couraged other peo­ple to do­nate ahead of World Blood Donor Day on Wed­nes­day.

“One in three peo­ple will need blood in their life­time; chances are they could be your work­mate, neigh­bour or fam­ily mem­ber,” she said.

“I en­cour­age any­one who is el­i­gi­ble to roll up your sleeves and save three lives by do­nat­ing to­day.”

Chris Le Juge De Se­grais re­cently made her 100th blood do­na­tion.
