Man on steal­ing charges

AN al­leged se­rial thief is fac­ing nearly 20 charges, in­clud­ing one of steal­ing from a woman who was putting clothes in a char­ity bin in War­wick.

Po­lice this month charged the 22year-old Bea­cons­field man over the of­fences, which date back to May.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors al­lege the man stole $500 from a 69-year-old woman’s purse while she was con­tribut­ing to a char­ity bin at War­wick Grove on June 15.

On an­other oc­ca­sion, he al­legedly cut a hole in the roof of a Banksia Grove con­ve­nience store, caus­ing $5000 dam­age, to steal $100 about 11.50pm on May 21.

He is also ac­cused of break­ing into a Banksia Grove prop­erty while a woman was home about 2.25pm on June 26.

He al­legedly stole her purse af­ter run­ning from the home when the vic­tim screamed.

Po­lice charged the man with four counts of steal­ing, two bur­glar­ies, pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty and nine counts of fraud re­lat­ing to the use of al­legedly stolen bank cards.

He was also charged with an as­sault un­re­lated to the bur­glary charges.
