A BANKSIA Grove resident alleges an asbestos removal company dumped items outside his property.

Blake Weller’s security cameras captured a vehicle leaving commercial building material at his home on Thursday morning.

The dumped items included a bag labelled ‘Do not inhale dust or puncture bag’.

“I went out to have a look and that’s when I noticed the asbestos bag,” Mr Weller said.

“I guess he was just coming from a job site.”

The 4WD used had an asbestos removal company logo and Mr Weller called the business to confront the driver.

“He said it was only one bag,” he said.

“He should know better. He shouldn’t have been dumping asbestos or non-asbestos items.

“I want him to be held accountable for his actions.”

The removal company owner said he believed the load was coming loose after returning from a job and noticed piles of rubbish in the area.

He said he always disposed of asbestos correctly and it was not in the items left outside the property.

“I know it’s not right but it’s not the way it’s made out to be,” he said.

“It’s not worth my while to dump asbestos.”

Mr Weller reported the dumping to the City of Wanneroo and a ranger attended his property that afternoon.

“While the waste has now been removed, the City of Wanneroo is continuing to investigate this issue,” acting community and place director Shane Spinks said.

Blake Weller’s CCTV cameras caught this asbestos removal company ute dumping items outside his property. Inset: the asbestos bag.
