Tune in to help others
A MINDARIE school and Kinross aged-care provider have teamed up to give people with dementia modern music technology.
Peter Moyes Anglican Community School and Amana Living are expanding an innovative music program, Tune into Life, that collects iPods to redistribute to people with dementia.
The school aims to collect 10 iPods a week and has called on the community to donate second-hand iPods or iTunes vouchers to donate to the program.
“Last year’s Tune into Life pilot showed the positive impact that personalised playlists can have on the life of a person with dementia,” Amana Living enrichment manager Emily Lees said.
Donations can be dropped off at the school reception. For details, call 9304 5500 or visit www.amanaliving. com.au/tuneintolife.
