It’s child’s play for City south and cen­tral parks

Red­heart Park in Carramar is just one of the many City of Wan­neroo open spa­ces re­ceiv­ing a facelift as part of the City’s 2017/2018 park as­set re­newal pro­gram. New play­ground equip­ment to the value of $200,000 is be­ing in­stalled at Red­heart Park in Carramar, Jack­son Park in Made­ley and Donatello Park in Lands­dale. Ash­dale Park will ben­e­fit from new shade sails, as will Green­fields Park in Hock­ing and Hainsworth Park in Girrawheen ($25,000 each). Mean­while, at Ap­pleby Park in Darch recre­ational bas­ket­ballers will en­joy us­ing a new shoot­ing-hoop struc­ture worth $15,000. Mayor Tracey Roberts said the City was deeply com­mit­ted to pro­vid­ing high qual­ity fa­cil­i­ties to the com­mu­nity. “Parks and play­grounds pro­vide a per­fect place for chil­dren and fam­i­lies to en­joy the great out­doors and form valu­able com­mu­nity con­nec­tions.”
