THE A to I method is way you can de­scribe an of­fender to help us iden­tify them. Write the in­for­ma­tion down as soon as pos­si­ble af­ter see­ing the per­son: A. Age. B. Build. C. Cloth­ing (full de­scrip­tion, colours, lo­gos. Don’t for­got hats and caps which of­ten have lo­gos, or any­thing they are car­ry­ing). D. Defin­ing fea­tures (e.g. tat­toos, scars etc.). E. El­e­va­tion (height – use a point of ref­er­ence to help gauge, e.g. same size as a 6’ wall). F. Face (fea­tures, shape etc.). G. Gait (how did they stand, walk, man­ner­isms etc.). H. Hair (length, colour, style etc.). I. Iden­tity – Gen­der and whether Cau­casian, dark­skinned etc. - Of­fi­cer-in-charge Sergeant Stephen Thomp­son.
