Wheelchair donations hit 40,000

Wanneroo Times - - News -

THE lives of 40,000 young people with disabilities and living in poverty have been changed thanks to a volunteer-run organisation in Wangara.

Wheelchairs for Kids, which has been in operation for 20 years, recently donated its 40,000th chair to a needy child in Nepal.

Workshop co-ordinator Bob Sheridan said the achievement was a milestone for the meaningful work the volunteers did.

He said Wheelchairs for Kids existed solely to provide wheelchairs for underprivileged and vulnerable children in countries that were under-resourced.
