REG­IS­TRA­TIONS are open for the win­ter sea­son of Foot­ball West’s in­clu­sive league aimed at com­pet­i­tively dis­ad­van­taged play­ers.

Equal Foot­ing­ball pro­vides an in­clu­sive en­vi­ron­ment for peo­ple with a com­pet­i­tive dis­ad­van­tage, such as a phys­i­cal or in­tel­lec­tual dis­abil­ity, to get started in sport.

Games are hap­pen­ing on week­ends from April to Septem­ber.

It is de­signed for play­ers who may have dif­fi­culty play­ing a full-size game at full speed and no scores, goal scor­ers list or com­pe­ti­tion lad­der are recorded.

There are cur­rently seven clubs through­out the Perth met­ro­pol­i­tan area that of­fer teams.

Foot­ball West in­clu­sive par­tic­i­pa­tion of­fi­cer Gor­don Duus said the cul­ture which de­vel­oped amongst the par­tic­i­pat­ing clubs was like no other.

“It’s bring­ing back the sport to its gen­uine roots – cheer­ing on op­po­nents, getting to know other fam­i­lies and ap­pre­ci­at­ing a lot of peo­ple in­volved in sport who have started out in dif­fer­ent chal­leng­ing po­si­tions and over­com­ing them,” he said.
