Garden of appreciation

Wanneroo Times - - School Matters -

THE garden at Hawker Park Primary School has received some extra attention.

The Warwick school recently received a Bankwest grant of $400, which teacher Codi Beatty said would ensure the garden was “well fed and watered all year round”.

“We were also able to buy some new plants for the garden,” she said.

“The children love exploring it and it’s a great learning resource too.”

As part of receiving the grant, some of the year 1 and 2 students took part in filming a new television advert, which aired this month.

“The children’s efforts in planting and sustaining the garden shines through in the advert and now it has started to be shown on TV they have a new appreciation for the garden,” she said.
