WEST Perth veteran Andrew Strijk continued his terrific form with five goals in a dominant performance to give the Falcons a thrilling one-point victory over Claremont at Claremont Oval.
In what is becoming something of a tradition between the clubs, the game again went down to the wire, with an umpiring decision on a touched ball by West Perth ruckman Chris Kuenan denying Claremont a last-minute goal to secure the win.
Claremont had plenty of opportunities but made numerous errors when going forward, with poor kicking and decision making proving costly.
Playing in just his second League game, Gilbert showed his more experienced Claremont teammates how to kick, with four majors in a solid allround performance.
