Neerabup upgrades in budget
MAJOR projects such as Neerabup industrial area development, sports facility upgrades and roads feature in the City of Wanneroo’s $67 million capital works budget for 2018-19.
About $25 million of that will come from municipal funds, $22.7 million from grants and other contributions and $17 million from reserve funds.
The City has allocated $2.1 million to develop and upgrade roads in the Neerabup industrial area and $1.9 million to widen Pinjar Road in Banksia Grove.
There will be $2.5 million to widen Mirrabooka Avenue in Landsdale.
The budget lists $12 million of the $23 million provided by the State Government to widen Marmion Avenue from Butler to Yanchep, with the project due to finish the following financial year.
Funding for sports facilities will include $1.6 million for a sports amenities building at Edgar Griffiths Park in Wanneroo and $1 million for Carramar Golf Course upgrades.
There will also be $1.5 million for Kingsway Olympic Club change rooms and grandstand, as well as $900,000 for netball clubrooms at Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex.
Allocations include $1.1 million to upgrade the pavilion in Hudson Park, Girrawheen, and $700,000 for floodlights at John Moloney Park in Marangaroo.
There is $400,000 for the long-awaited coastal path between Mindarie and Burns Beach. The City has also allocated $170,000 to design the top 10 projects from Cycle Wanneroo.
