Neer­abup up­grades in bud­get

MA­JOR projects such as Neer­abup in­dus­trial area de­vel­op­ment, sports fa­cil­ity up­grades and roads fea­ture in the City of Wan­neroo’s $67 mil­lion cap­i­tal works bud­get for 2018-19.

About $25 mil­lion of that will come from mu­nic­i­pal funds, $22.7 mil­lion from grants and other con­tri­bu­tions and $17 mil­lion from re­serve funds.

The City has al­lo­cated $2.1 mil­lion to de­velop and up­grade roads in the Neer­abup in­dus­trial area and $1.9 mil­lion to widen Pin­jar Road in Banksia Grove.

There will be $2.5 mil­lion to widen Mirra­booka Av­enue in Lands­dale.

The bud­get lists $12 mil­lion of the $23 mil­lion pro­vided by the State Gov­ern­ment to widen Marmion Av­enue from But­ler to Yanchep, with the project due to fin­ish the fol­low­ing fi­nan­cial year.

Fund­ing for sports fa­cil­i­ties will in­clude $1.6 mil­lion for a sports ameni­ties build­ing at Edgar Grif­fiths Park in Wan­neroo and $1 mil­lion for Car­ra­mar Golf Course up­grades.

There will also be $1.5 mil­lion for Kingsway Olympic Club change rooms and grand­stand, as well as $900,000 for net­ball clu­b­rooms at Kingsway Re­gional Sport­ing Com­plex.

Al­lo­ca­tions in­clude $1.1 mil­lion to up­grade the pavil­ion in Hud­son Park, Gir­rawheen, and $700,000 for flood­lights at John Moloney Park in Maranga­roo.

There is $400,000 for the long-awaited coastal path be­tween Min­darie and Burns Beach. The City has also al­lo­cated $170,000 to de­sign the top 10 projects from Cy­cle Wan­neroo.
