Suspended term for gambler
A GAMBLING addict has been handed a suspended prison term after pleading guilty to stealing more than $30,000 from a local building business where he was employed.
Glen Thomas Ewars faced Joondalup Magistrates Court on June 27, where he was convicted of stealing as a servant.
Ewars expressed his remorse as he admitted to stealing about $34,200 to fund a gambling problem.
Magistrate Deen Potter sentenced him to a nine-month prison term suspended for 15 months and a nine-month community-based order.
