Group grows into northern suburbs
NATIONAL organisation Grow has started support groups for people with mental health conditions in Butler and Connolly.
The charity runs programs giving people opportunities to share their stories and talk about challenges and solutions for recovery.
It has free peer-led groups that meet at the Butler Community Centre on Kingsbridge Boulevard from 10am to noon every Friday and at Connolly Community Centre on Glenelg Place from 7pm to 9pm on Thursdays.
“Grow is recognised for its unique approach to developing leaders in mental health recovery, through mutual help, and friendship,” fieldworker Ben Hall said.
“Our mission is to empower people with a mental health condition or illness to take their responsible and caring place in the wider community.
“By working together, learning together and sharing experiences, we help one another grow to our full potential.”
