Schools show art skills

JOON­DALUP Pri­mary School and Ed­u­ca­tion Sup­port Cen­tre re­cently cel­e­brated arts in ed­u­ca­tion.

Ev­ery year, the schools host an arts night to recog­nise the role it plays in stu­dent de­vel­op­ment and aca­demic achieve­ment.

The school was open to fam­i­lies and the com­mu­nity with a vis­ual arts ex­hi­bi­tion, drum­ming per­for­mance, In­done­sian dance and ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing ro­botic mu­sic, mu­ral paint­ing, a DJ ses­sion and ex­plo­ration of the new science lab.

The event cul­mi­nated in the Joon­dalup Rock Con­cert, with stu­dents from pre-pri­mary to Year 6 per­form­ing a rock-themed item from the 1950s through to the 2000s, which they had been re­hears­ing since Term 3.
