Raponi back on Fal­cons board

FOR­MER West Perth pres­i­dent Brett Raponi has re­turned to the club’s board.

Raponi, who headed up the Fal­cons from 2009 to 2016, fills the va­cant po­si­tion left by for­mer pres­i­dent Scott Ballem on the new Neale Fong-led board.

“Ob­vi­ously I have a great love for the club and was en­cour­aged by a num­ber of West Perth FC peo­ple that I greatly re­spect to get in­volved,” he told Com­mu­nity News.

“I like the vi­sion that Neil and CEO Linda Hamer­s­ley have for the club.

“And while the pas­sion is alive, I want to as­sist the club.”

The club, un­der new coach Ge­off Valen­tine, has been busy re-sign­ing play­ers, in­clud­ing Dean Munns, Jor­dan Mills and Jor­den Peirce.

Reign­ing Bernie Naylor medal­list An­drew Strijk will con­tinue into his 14th sea­son with the Fal­cons.

For­mer cap­tain Luke Tedesco was re­cently ap­pointed colts coach at South Fre­man­tle un­der league coach Todd Cur­ley.

Cur­ley is one of three for­mer West Perth coaches coach­ing at WAFL clubs. Bill Mon­aghan heads up East Fre­man­tle and Dar­ren Har­ris is hop­ing to take Clare­mont deep into Sep­tem­ber next sea­son.
