THE City of Wanneroo received two development accolades for Yanchep and Eglinton projects at the National Growth Areas Alliance Awards last month. The awards ceremony on November 19 in NSW celebrated excellence and best practice in projects and initiatives that support the development of growth areas across Australia. The City’s ongoing work developing Yanchep with its development partners through projects such as the sports facilities at Splendid Park and revitalising the Mary Lindsay Homestead was recognised in the ‘Designing the outer suburbs of the future’ category. Developing Australia’s first ‘smart playground’ at Kinkuna Park in Eglinton with Satterley, LandCorp, Biba and The Playground Centre led to gold in the ‘Creating value through growth’ category as well.
