THE City of Wan­neroo re­ceived two de­vel­op­ment ac­co­lades for Yanchep and Eglin­ton projects at the Na­tional Growth Ar­eas Al­liance Awards last month. The awards cer­e­mony on No­vem­ber 19 in NSW cel­e­brated ex­cel­lence and best prac­tice in projects and ini­tia­tives that sup­port the de­vel­op­ment of growth ar­eas across Aus­tralia. The City’s on­go­ing work de­vel­op­ing Yanchep with its de­vel­op­ment part­ners through projects such as the sports fa­cil­i­ties at Splen­did Park and re­vi­tal­is­ing the Mary Lind­say Homestead was recog­nised in the ‘De­sign­ing the outer suburbs of the fu­ture’ cat­e­gory. De­vel­op­ing Aus­tralia’s first ‘smart play­ground’ at Kinkuna Park in Eglin­ton with Sat­ter­ley, LandCorp, Biba and The Play­ground Cen­tre led to gold in the ‘Cre­at­ing value through growth’ cat­e­gory as well.
