Students’ Noongar space

Wanneroo Times - - NEWS -

MINDARIE Primary School has created an open learning area that encourages cultural reflection and inclusion.

The school held an opening ceremony for the ‘Kala Boodjar, colours country’ space last term.

Associate principal Andrew Gould said Sandy Blackford led the project to create a space featuring native plants and bush tucker shrubs.

Mr Gould said students investigated the Noongar calendar in a competition to design artwork that features on poles created by Aboriginal artist Jade Dolman for a walkway.
