Refill aquifer!

Re “Go with the Flow”, Times, April 29. Perth and its market garden surrounding areas are desperate for water, with falling ground water and drying lakes.

The State Government has foreshadowed the reduction in growers’ water licence allocations in the salad bowl of North Carabooda and Nowergup by 10 per cent.

The Alkimos Wastewater Treatment Plant is planning to discharge 26 mega litres of treated wastewater to the ocean a day. What an absolute disgrace. Every drop of this precious water should be returned to the aquifer, which would replenish our wetlands to their former beauty and allow our growers to retain their water allocation.
