Close to her heart
WHEN not on the road as a paramedic, Tania Hill is a keen jeweller.
And the Padbury resident’s heartbeat-inspired brooch was recently presented to about 30 heart attack survivors at a St John Ambulance event.
Among them was someone she helped save herself. Malcolm Meumann was 500m from the finish line in the Joondalup Park run of 2016 when he had a near-fatal cardiac arrest before Tania and her St John partner came to his aid.
Malcolm and Tania (right) had an emotional reunion at the event.
“It was incredible and to think that all these survivors could have very easily not been alive today if not for the actions of bystanders and paramedics,” she said.
