young­ster Re­gan Duffy was crowned a na­tional cham­pion as the Aus­tralian Ju­nior Mo­tocross Cham­pi­onships wrapped up in Tas­ma­nia on the week­end.

De­spite a crash late in the week, Duffy fell only one race short of a clean sweep in the 15 years ju­nior lites, giv­ing him 172 points to win the cham­pi­onship from Queens­land’s Noah Fer­gu­son on 152 and NSW’s Dante Hyam on 140.

Fer­gu­son also went on to win the 15 years 125cc class from Queens­land’s Tye Jones and WA’s Cor­ben Wein­ert.

Eglin­ton’s Kay­den Min­ear also had a big week, win­ning the nine to un­der-11 65cc on 172 points from NSW’s Ky Woods on 157 and Koby Han­tis on 146 and com­ing sec­ond in the nine to un­der-12 mini lites SW, just 11 points be­hind Queens­land win­ner Jet Al­sop. Al­sop also won the 11 to un­der-12s 65cc class.

Queens­land won the In­ter­state Chal­lenge, where sev­eral rid­ers were se­lected in each di­vi­sion. The win­ners had a to­tal of 210 points, fol­lowed by NSW on 198, WA on192, SA on 189, Tas­ma­nia on 183, Vic­to­ria on 176 and NT on 169.
