Saddling up and up
JORDAN Hill’s love of horses will see him represent Australia at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi next year.
HILLARYS resident Jordan Hill (24) has been riding horses since he was eight and next year will fulfil a dream of representing Australia.
Mr Hill is one of four riders from across the country selected to take part in the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in March 2019.
“I really love horses,” he said.
“It was my nicest dream when I got a letter from the Special Olympics which said ‘you made the team’.”
He is training four days a week at the Claremont Therapeutic Riding Centre and Riding for the Disabled Carine to prepare for the trail, dressage and English equitation events.
His coach M’Liss Henry, who has run the Mt Claremont centre for 48 years, said Mr Hill showed plenty of enthusiasm and had changed from being “a little bit hesitant” to improving his balance and rhythm and learning about horses.
Jordan Hill and horse Dexter are heading to Abu Dhabi.
