Three for shade

Shade sails will be installed at three of the City’s playgrounds later this month at Burns Beach Park (Burns Beach), Tom Simpson Park – South (Mullaloo) and Delamere Park (Currambine). The installation of sail structures at three very popular and highly utilised playgrounds is a win for the local community, resulting in greater opportunities to utilise the facilities, particularly in summer months. While natural shading will always be preferable given the high costs of installing and maintaining artificial shade, there are some circumstances where this is not a practical solution and exploring the option of sail structures is required. The three playgrounds will be unavailable for use during the construction period and the public will be informed via onsite signage.
