Father and son

Simon Phillips made his way out to the middle accompanie­d by son Aidan.

The pair opened the batting in their division two clash with Neerim.

It was the first time they have batted together in a match.

Neerim also opened with a father son combinatio­n in Anthony and Travis McCann.

Gippsland cap

Buln Buln division one wicketkeep­er/batsman Jack Armour has been selected in the All Gippsland under 21 team.

He is the sole WDCA representa­tive in the side.

Gippsland will travel to Wodonga to take on the North East region on Sunday November 15 before hosting Northern Rivers at Churchill on Sunday November 22.

Rare feat

Hat tricks don’t occur often but two Drouin cricketers achieved the feat at the weekend.

Jacob Simpson picked up 4/30 against Bunyip in division three, while Simon Gardiner claimed 4/22 against Bunyip in division one.

Function time

It’s fundraisin­g time with clubs hosting functions to raise those allimporta­nt dollars.

Buln Buln

Buln Buln will hold its $80 day on Saturday.

Ticket includes free beer and two-course meal plus the chance to win $1000.

Longwarry will host a ‘P’ party on Saturday at Longwarry Recreation Reserve from 7pm.

Dress up as something starting with the letter P.

Jindivick’s “Jumpin’ Jackpot” $1000 reverse draw will be held on Saturday November 21 from 7 pm.

Tickets cost $50 which includes beer, wine, soft drink and finger food, while a courtesy bus is also available.

Western Park

Western Park will hold its sponsors day in conjunctio­n with the Gippsland Cricket League match on Sunday November 29.

Cricket kicks off at 10.15am with function at noon.
