Titans take good contest

Iona was restricted to 113 in their clash with Garfield-Tynong.

In what was a tough day at the office the Swamp Tigers, Michael Scully top scored with 38 not out and he received handy support from Tom McCormack with 18 not out. Graham Bone made 36 at the top of the order.

Mick O’Neill was economical claiming 2/8 off eight overs while Joshua Horsburgh also picked up two wickets.

Iona gained the ascendency early running through the Titans top order to leave them reeling at 5/35.

A late fight back from Mick O’Neill (42*) and Stuart Horsburgh (30) was enough to see them home 6/126 from the allotted overs.

Michael Scully backed up his batting with 2/14 from eight overs and Nathan Marriott chipped in with 2/30.

Drouin secure win

Drouin 2/79 def Longwarry 73 Longwarry fought long and hard against Drouin to post just 73 before being all out in the 40th over.

Kevin McKenna and Noel Pullen made 14 and 13 respective­ly to be the top scorers.

Stephen Bleazby cleaned up the tail for figures of 3/4 off 4.3 overs. John Tyrrell did the early work with 3/15 off eight.

In reply the Hawks needed just 22 overs to secure the win.

John Tomkins (35) and Stephen Bleazby (31) got the job done as the visitors reached the target two wickets down.

Bunyip struggling

An undermanne­d Bunyip put up a fight before being dismissed by Jindivick for 36.

Jacob Pickthall was the best of the batsmen with 14.

There was no standout bowler for the Jumping Jacks although Daryl Bagnall and Tim Moore each collected 1/0.

Jindivick only needed 12 overs to reach the target one down.

Lee Tilley led the way with 22 not out.
