Venue seeks 5am licence

-

A licenced multi-use venue in Warragul is seeking approval to remain open until 5am on a number of days each week.

Bank Coffee House and Wine Bar in Smith St has applied to Baw Baw Shire to use an area used during weekdays for parking at the rear of the premises as a beer garden extension to the entertainment area at nights and on weekends and public holidays.

It would remain a public area at other times.

Applicant Declan Flannery met with councillors and planning officers indicated a separate application will be made to extend the liquor trading hours to 5am on specific days.

It states Mr Flannery seeks to operate the premises from 7am to 3am the following day between Sundays and Thursdays and from 7am to 5am on weekends and some public holidays - new year’s eve, Australia day and the eves of Labour Day, Good Friday, Queen’s Birthday, Melbourne Cup and Christmas Day.

The beer garden area will be fully enclosed and locked and secured during evening trading.

The application includes a noise and amenity action plan that states the venue would cater for a maximum of 500 patrons and sources of noise would be similar to existing licenced premises in the locality.

The application to amend the planning permit application can be inspected at the shire’s customer service centre at Drouin until Thursday, November 19.
