Big ton for Pratt Division 4

Drouin are in a commanding position heading into day two of their clash with Jindivick thanks mainly to Nicholas Pratt.

Pratt scored his maiden century with a patient and well compiled innings of 143.

Pratt received great support throughout the day especially from Sam Romari (31) as the pair added 102 for the fifth wicket.

Other key contributo­rs were Brian McCarty with 40 and Steve Austen 29. Extras topped the list behind Pratt with a whopping 52.

Paul Singh was the pick of the bowlers with 4/54 while Aaron Larkman claimed three scalps.

Titans on top

Garfield-Tynong 9/269 vs Warragul

Garfield-Tynong has posted a competitiv­e total against Warragul despite the best efforts of Nathan Macfarlane, who recorded career best figures of 6/60 off a marathon 20 overs.

Jake Lambourne started proceeding­s for the Titans with 69 and he was well backed by Craig Cousin who made 56.

‘Razor’ Ray Evans topped scored with 86.

Floodgates open

Hallora 9/234 vs Yarragon A 121 run opening stand from Hallora’s Chris Youngman (30) and Steve Wernert (70) was quickly undone as Kurt Borsato ran rampant through the batting line-up claiming the next six wickets.

Karl Beasant offered solid resistance with his 37 not out and with the addition of 57 extras the Kangas were able to post a defendable total.

Borsato finished with 7/75 off 28 overs. Jarvis Wheller chipped in with 2/33 off 10.

Evenly poised

Longwarry 204 vs Buln Buln 3/21 Longwarry and Buln Buln are evenly poised in their match with Longwarry just gaining the upper hand with three wickets late in the day.

After choosing to bat first several of the Crows batsmen made good starts with none being able to make a big score.

Ian Peterson led the way with 37 followed by Alan Prout (31) and Jesse Lafrantz (28).

Matt Pollard reaped the rewards of a long spell claiming 4/43 from 17 overs. Stuart Marriott restricted the scoring and picked up 2/8 off seven overs, which included four maidens.

With nine overs to bowl Jesse Lafrantz launched a devastatin­g opening salvo that saw him snare 3/9 off five overs.
