Erin and Renee win ambassador awards
Erin Arnott and Renee Anderson, both representing Berwick Agricultural Show Society, won the rural ambassador regional awards in senior and junior sections at a judging day at Korumburra recently.
Erin was the only entrant in the senior section. She will go on to compete in the state judging at the Melbourne Royal Show.
Renee, of Athlone, will compete in the junior section of the award at the state convention in Swan Hill in July.
In second place was Meaghan Venables representing Pakenham Show while third was Georgi Boucher of Warragul representing Korumburra Show.
The competition was judged by South Gippsland Shire councillor Lorraine Brunt and VASL board member Warrick Glendinning.
The rural ambassador judging was combined with judging of the various cooking, craft and photography sections.
All of the section winners will go on to compete in the state judging at the Melbourne Royal Show in September.
The various sections were judged by Margaret Hyde of Leongatha and Bianca Stefani of Fish Creek.
The senior fruit cake was won by Valma Walker of Lang Lang while Ross Crawford of Korumburra was second.
The junior fruit cake was won by Jessica Sanders of Bunyip while Isabella Mackie of Foster was second.
The carrot cake was won by Pat Jones of Berwick while Susan Corr of Lang Lang was second.
The junior carrot cake muffins were won by Connor Allen of Lang Lang while Ben Smith of Warragul was second.
The senior photography was won by Helene Wakefield-Payne of Berwick and in second place was Don Appleton. Junior photography was won by Alexandra Harris of Pakenham with Isabelle Murray-Gould of Berwick in second place.
The knitting was won by Kaye Howells of Pakenham with Tanya Aichison of Foster second and the crochet was won by Joyce Pickering of Foster.
The embroidery was won by Carol Summerfield representing Bunyip Show with Rhonda Street of Korumburra second.
The patchwork was won by Wilma Norton of Korumburra with Valmai Walker of Lang Lang second and the sewing was won by Kristie Hayden of Bunyip with Meaghan Venables of Pakenham in second place.
