Gippsland Travel escorts a unique Australian adventure

-

The Kimberley coastline is a unique Australian destination that everyone should try to visit at least once.

Gippsland Travel is offering a unique experience to be fully escorted by one of their Senior Consultants, Linda Owen, on a 13 day Bonaparte and Archipelago Cruise, sailing on a private charter aboard the MC Oceanic, a spacious powered mono hull vessel, 24 metres in length, rigged sail. What a fantastic way to explore this remote wilderness area. You will also have two nights in Broome prior to the cruise and finish with two nights in Darwin.

Sailing through one of the last frontiers will give you a new perspective on the Kimberley Coast. The Kimberley coastline is home to some of the most beautiful natural attractions in the world. Western Australia’s marine areas are globally significant. The State's coastal waters are considered to be among the least disturbed in the world. Not only will you get to marvel at these spectacular sights and explore the region, but delve into the history of your surroundings. These waters are so untouched that a vast majority of these islands remain unnamed. So not only will this be a journey of exploration but also discovery! This is the ultimate cruise incorporating all of the Kimberley Coast between Wyndham & Broome known as the Buccaneer and Bonaparte Archipelagos. In between Cape Leveque and Wyndham there are approximately 2000 islands.

You will sail and motor and explore both Archipelagos where the Kimberley is renowned for summer storms, spectacular light shows, thundering waterfalls and swollen billabongs. Fishing, swimming in fresh waterholes, beach combing, exploring aboriginal art and hiking are all on the menu in some of the remotest parts of the Kimberley. Places you visit will include the Horizontal Falls, Montgomery Reef, Kings Cascades, Bigge Island (Aboriginal Art), Mitchell River, Berkley River along with the fascinating history and remains of the Truscott Airbase.

Each adventure will be different according to tides and weather. The Bonaparte Archipelago in WA's remote Kimberley region, is a maze of islands, inlets, peninsulas and rivers. Its colour and scale conspire to take one’s breath away. Its diverse coastline is timeless but far from static with 11 metre tides (the second largest in the world). Staggering quantities of water flood it, and empty from it, twice daily with the tides. Its distant location has meant it has remained an unspoilt and remarkably pristine location to explore and experience.

This group departure is scheduled for March / April 2018 and Linda is currently taking expressions of interest as there are limited places on this private charter.

Included in the price package are all meals and accommodation, shore excursions, tea/coffee, water and juice whilst on the cruise. Meals on board have an emphasis on fresh, healthy, clean food bursting with flavour. Chefs cook what you catch. Accommodation on board varies from modern ensuited double cabins, double bed and twin share bunk-style accommodation with shared bathrooms plus beach camping in swags provided. Cabin prices are now available, however airfares and pre/post accommodation will be available at a later date.
