Demons clear at top

Koo wee rup moved clear at the top of the Ellinbank District football ladder with a narrow win over fellow contenders Bunyip, 10-7 (67) to 8-8 (56).

In a match which had been tight throughout with several lead changes up until three-quarter-time, it was the Demons to push on with three goals to one in the final term to win a low scoring affair.

Trailing by four points at three-quarter-time, the Demons overran the Bulldogs on their home ground in the top of the table clash.

Mitchell Collins was again the focal point up forward, finishing with three majors.

Daniel Calteri, Ben Miller, David Collins, Ben Kerrigan, Ryan Wilby and Alex Considine combined to lead the Demons to victory.

For Bunyip it was Lachlan Petch, Kris Bedford, Jeb McLeod, Zac Vansittart, Mitch Davies and Michael Laszczyk to keep the Bulldogs in the game.

Demons in low scorer

Koo wee rup overcame a slow start to win a tight contest in the Reserves, 6-6 (42) to 5-5 (35).

The Demons kicked four goals in the second term to open up a 15 point lead and held off the Bulldogs from there, who came home strongly with three goals to two in the second half.

Better players for the Demons were Rhys Morgan, Mark Liddell, Jack Mayes, Jeremy Dower, Jarrod Edwards and Ben Dadswell.

Bunyip listed David Bates, Harrison McConnell, Sam Davies, Steve Berryman, Jack Roberts and Tyson Buckingham as its best players.

Demons haunt Dogs

Koo wee rup proved too strong in the under 18s, winning 13-8 (86) to 5-4 (34).

The Demons gradually increased their lead throughout, opening up a 41 point lead at the final change to have the match in their keeping.

Arley Jordan kicked five goals, while Shannon March chipped in with three majors.

Caleb Milojevic, Ryan Frazer, Cody Miller and Mitchell Davey were also prominent.

Matthew O’Halloran, Matthew Fox, Sean Russell, Trent Jayamaha, Joel Hermence and Harrison Nadenbousc­h did their best to stem the tide for Bunyip.

Demons start sweep

Koo wee rup began its clean sweep with a strong win in the under 16s.

The Demons led throughout and had the match in their keeping at the final change, where they held a 34-point advantage.

Mitchell Davey kicked five goals, while Brody Sungalis chipped in with three majors.

Mitchell Cammarano, Jack Johns, Jason Cox and Thomas Glassbarro­w also continued their good run of form.

Zach Bonnet kicked three goals for the Bulldogs, including a clever place kick off the ground.

Dylan Gallasch, Josh Murphy, Jake Newnham and Ethan Carlile were the other better players for Bunyip.
