Cardinia grants available
Community groups have been urged to apply for Cardinia Shire’s community wellbeing support grants.
Grant applications are currently open and will close on April 30.
Community groups can apply for funding in one of three categories: Seeding grants (up to $5000) – are available to support the establishment of new groups, new programs and new projects.
Volunteering grants (up to $3000) – assist with the recruitment and development of volunteers within Cardinia Shire.
Miscellaneous grants (up to $2000) – are suitable for ad-hoc requests for support with minor operational and equipment costs that cannot be met through other funding sources.
Council’s community development facilitator Allison Howard said council’s annual Community Wellbeing Support Grants assist local groups with projects and purchases that they would struggle to fund on their own.
“Last year, Follow Church was among those who benefited from a Community Wellbeing Support Grant with a $5000 grant they put toward the upgrade of their van.
“However, really it’s the community members who use the services provided that benefit from the funding. It’s been great to see programs and projects just like this one flourish with that little extra help,” Ms Howard said.
Applications are submitted using the Smartygrants website. For more information go to council’s website.
