-

Neerim-Neerim South made a statement, thumping an improved Catani side 29-6 (180) to 6-5 (41).

The Cats got the jump in the first quarter, kicking nine goals to three to set up a commanding win.

The Blues could only manage one goal in each of the ensuing quarters as the Cats ran rampant.

Eight goals in the second term and five in the third took the three-quartertime margin beyond 100 points and the Cats didn’t let up, booting a further seven goals in the final term to close a percentage boosting win that launched them to the top of the ladder.

Tyssen Morrow continued his goal kicking form, booting seven goals, while Chris Urie booted five, Aiden Dibsdale and coach Allan Chandler three apiece in the rout as 11 Cats found their way onto the scoresheet.

Calum Shiels, Jackson Ward and Dean Stringer launched many attacks in what was a dominant performance by the Cats.

Owen Fitzpatrick was once again the key target for the Blues, finishing with three goals, while Paul Pattison, Brett Williams, Jackson Caddy, Antonio Benvenuto, James Williams and James Alexander did their best to try and stem the tide.

Cats dominate

The Cats began their domination in the senior grades with a big win in the Reserves, 17-20 (122) to 3-3 (21).

A consistent performance saw the Cats edge ahead at each break, before ramming home the advantage with seven goals in the final term.

Matthew Cumming and Jeremiah Jones led the scoring, each kicking four goals. Other prominent players for the Cats included Jack Erikson, Tim Beaurain, Darren Ratten and Cameron Nugent.

Adam White, Brad and Darren Adams, Dustin Peebles, Liam Kiely and Leigh Jose battled against the odds for the Blues.
