Dracula classic gets a shake and stir

-

Sharpen your fangs as a new adaptation of the bloody classic “Dracula” arrives from the critically-acclaimed contemporary theatre company “shake & stir”.

The West Gippsland Arts Centre will present “Dracula” at the Cardinia Cultural Centre in Pakenham on Tuesday, June 6 with shows at 11am and 8pm.

This Gothic horror story tells of young lawyer Jonathan Harker visiting Castle Dracula deep within the Carpathian Mountains. He’s not expecting the strange hospitality received from his mysterious host.

Alone and trapped within the castle walls, Jonathan discovers that Dracula wants more than his presence at the dinner table - he might also be the main course.

Leaving Jonathan for dead and his castle behind, Dracula travels to London on a quest for seduction, true love and above all - blood.

From the company behind the multi-award winning, national touring productions of “1984” and “Animal Farm”, comes this new adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 twisted tale.

Established in 2006, shake & stir is one of Australia’s leading contemporary theatre companies and specialises in the creation of new work.

This production is suitable for ages 15 and over.

Tickets are $45 for adults, $43 for concession, $38 for members and groups, and $28 for under 18s.

A bonus to this show, is the option of “The Dracula Experience” which includes show ticket, dinner and beverage, post-show beverage, post-show meet and greet with cast, and transport to and from the venue from Warragul. This is available only for the 8pm show.

The Dracula Experience tickets are $80 for adults and $75 for members.
