Warming up for Winterfest

-

It may be chilly outside but preparations are heating up for the Warragul Winterfest and Lantern Parade to be held in Eastern Park on Saturday from 4.30pm.

Winterfest is an exciting celebration with fire twirlers, drum music, a large bonfire and, of course, the lantern parade.

Many local schools and organisations have been busily making lanterns.

This was the highlight of the day for the 26 students at Ellinbank Primary School, who delighted in building their lanterns.

First they made a bamboo and masking tape frame, then they used baking paper to cover and decorate it.

With an array of different designs created, from cartoon characters, letters from their names, beautiful coloured squares to bold patterns, they let their creative juices flow.

It will be marvellous to see their creations and those of children from all around Warragul at Winterfest.
