Cassidy’s career hits high point

Cassidy Fry of Bunyip has been awarded the Australian Stockhorse National Hi Point youth (under 13 years) working utility for 2016.

Riding her 15h Australian Stockhorse Tyranook Steely Dan, Cassidy has had success on the Stockhorse Show scene the past season. Together they have won four overall highpoint awards throughout Victoria, along with the Hi Point Youth at the Victorian state championsh­ips held at Elmore in February.

Cassidy, 11, competes in events including handler, hack, working, station horse and barrel racing.

She won both the working and hack stockhorse rider under 18 years at last year’s Royal Melbourne Show.

Cassidy and her horse are currently in a spell ahead of resuming competitio­n at the Royal Melbourne Show in late September.

Cassidy, who began riding horses at just two years of age, also hopes to compete in the National Stock Horse Youth Show, which will be held in Narrabri, northern New South Wales in October.
