Industrials consolidate in top four

-

Warragul Industrials further consolidated its position inside the Ellinbank and District football top four, comfortably accounting for finals aspirant Nilma-Darnum, 11-12 (78) to 4-6 (30).

Relatively low scoring was a theme of the round as matches were played in cold conditions across the competition.

The Industrials gradually kicked away across the first three quarters and something had to give, with the home team capping off a solid performance with five goals to one in the final term.

Shane Brewster continued his good form, booting four goals, while Travis Ogden, Michael Ablett, Will Jolley, Ben Northover and Josh Seri helped the Industrials put a gap on their opponents.

Luke Lange, Ben Arnold, Ben Campbell, Nicholas Wilcox, Robert Campbell and Jeremy Jarred did their best to keep the Bombers in the contest.

Dusties thump Bombers

Warragul Industrials confirmed their status as one of the stronger teams in the Reserves competition, thumping Nilma-Darnum 24-21 (165) to 0-0 (0).

If the 42-point quarter time lead seemed bad enough, the Industrials heaped on the pain in the second term with 12 goals pushing the margin beyond 100 points.

While the home team took the foot off the pedal somewhat in the second half, they were still effective in not allowing their opposition to score in running out a huge percentage boosting win.

Corey Nickells continued his push for senior recall, dominating his opposition to finish with 11 goals.

Matt Gooden chipped in with five majors, while Damien Mullen, Scott Lindsay, Cory Melbourne, Luke O’Brien and Wil Foenander also helped the Industrials dominate.

Corey Wright, Mat Price, Jack Sugars, Ashley Scott, Aaron Maynard and Blake Cann did their best to stem the tide for the Bombers.

Darcy Norton and Keegan Tullett each kicked four goals, while Jackson Perry, Joseph Murfet, Elijah Ford, Nicholas Huggett and Nick Elliott also helped the Industrials to a strong win.

Jason Cox, Lauchlan Gregson, Jack Louden, Thomas Gowans, Liam Adams and Jackson Caddy were listed as the better players for Catani.

Bombers dealt blow

Nilma-Darnum’s recent positive form in the under 16s was dealt a blow, with Warragul Industrials taking the game comfortably, 12-5 (77) to 3-3 (21).

The Industrials gradually built on their lead, with Lachlan Wilson booting four goals and Harrison Perry three.
