Gulls flying in C grade
Warragul proved competitive against Moe but only came away with one win in C grade. A grade: Warragul 41 lost to Moe 52. This match was always going to be close, Warragul having won in round one.
From the first whistle, it was tough for either side to move the ball into the goal circle due to strong defence.
While Anna Green was the dominant scorer for Warragul in the first quarter, Jaime Rollinson really stamped her mark on the game in the second. Hayley Roberts and Alex Cole worked tirelessly to give them goaling opportunities. At half-time, Moe held a one goal lead, 21-20.
Moe played an exceptional third quarter, despite the efforts of Lucy Monahan who was outstanding in defence. The Warragul attackers played consistently but any turnover was converted by Moe. The Gulls trailed by seven at the final change.
Warragul continued to play consistent netball but could not make any inroads into the deficit.
Awards: Lucy Monahan, Roberts and Alex Cole. B grade: Warragul 32 lost to Moe 49. Keen to get more wins on the board, Warragul came up against second placed Moe.
A slow first half allowed Moe a strong lead going into half-time. The goalers were under pressure by Moe's tall Hayley defenders, however, worked hard to utilise their speed and agility.
Warragul's second half was fantastic as they kept the game competitive to the end.

C grade: Warragul 29 defeated Moe 25.
The defenders provided countless turnovers, with Meg Graham taking brilliant intercepts.
Elly Radford and Tanya Barr moved the ball well out of defence and stayed composed throughout the entire game. Laura McCullough and Hannah McKenzie worked tirelessly through the mid court and fed into the goal ring accurately.
Superstar goalers Kim Weller and Georgia Lyons worked well together, as always.

Under 17: Warragul 12 lost to Moe 43.
Warragul started well with Indya Fries moved into goal attack who combined well with Claire Sandman and the mid court.
Moe started to take control of the match, although Ivy Cant was outstanding in goal keeper with many intercepts and rebounds.
The weather deteriorated and players struggled to handle the wet and slippery conditions. Phoebe Graham remained steady in the mid court, however, Moe’s defence was strong and Warragul struggled to convert opportunities they had.

Under 15: Warragul 44 lost to Moe 55.
When a team puts into practise what they’ve been working hard on at training, it’s going to be a skilful and exciting game.
With great passing by all players and well executed shooting by Grace Radford and Bridie Mulqueen, Warragul led for the first three quarters. However, in the final quarter, inaccurate passing along with excellent pressure from Moe saw the Gulls lose the game.
Claire Lear did a brilliant job in defence, applying great pressure and making many intercepts. Laura Miller did another awesome job in the mid court, making great decisions and superb passing.
Awards: Grace Radford, Claire Lear and Laura Miller. Under 13: Warragul 3 lost to Moe 50. Moe proved too strong for the Gulls, with the youngest team showing great eagerness and effort on the court again.
The team will concentrated on direct passing and first options this week.
