Gritty ton for Vo

Western Park 4/216 def. Drouin 10/179 After a shaky start, Western Park has recorded a comfortable win over Drouin.

At 2/15 the Parkers were in trouble early before an inspiring partnership from Elliot Kennedy (15) and Duy Vo got the innings back on track. The pair added 57 with Kennedy showing great maturity before edging one off Dale Kelly.

Sam Serramondi joined Vo and the pair continued to chip away at the target. They added 88 for the fourth wicket to bring the Warriors within sight of victory before Serramondi was dismissed for a career high 26.

Rod Breeden (24*) helped steer the visitors home but it was Vo who provided the highlight of the day. Injuring his hamstring early in his innings and requiring a runner, Vo showed some real grit, going on to bring up his ton late in the day to finish on 102 not out.

Kye Osseweyer was the pick of the bowlers with a tidy 2/32 off 16 overs.
