Stolen car may be link in several crimes

-

Police are investigating a series of incidents including assault, burglary and theft which may be related.

The three incidents occurred on Sunday, November 26 in Warragul, Drouin and Trafalgar with reports of a similar vehicle being involved in all incidents.

Police said the first incident occurred at 3.30am when a vehicle, including a group of males and a female, stopped near a group of males walking in Normamby St, Warragul.

A 22-year-old Warragul man told police the vehicle stopped and asked them to empty their pockets.

It is alleged two of the occupants got out of the vehicle making threats to empty their pockets and the 22-year-old was struck to the face.

At 8.45am, a Drouin resident found two males in their loungeroom rummaging through a bar in their loungeroom.

Police said the offenders left the Amberly Drv house with cash, house keys and a garage door remote control.

In the third incident, an offender entered the IGA supermarket at Trafalgar and asked for a carton of cigarettes.

Police said while staff were distracted, the offender left the store with the cigarettes.

The male offender left the scene in a Hyundai car that had been stolen from Warragul earlier that day.

Police are investigating the three crimes and possible connection between the incidents.
