Warragul Bowling Club had a fair day in round seven of WGBD pennant on Saturday with two teams winning, two losing and one being washed out.

Division one: Warragul Traralgon 65/122.

Matt Smith, John Vickerman, Ken Scammell and Bill Clappers lost to Neville Brown’s team 13/32. Necip Akarsu, David Alderman, Janette Gallasch and Clive Padgham lost to Matt Ferrari’s team 16/29. Keith Wilkins, Ian Belling, Peter Gallasch and Glenn Lockett lost to Ian Kirkup’s team 14/34. Ken Landman, David Smith, Toby Wallace and Steve Pallot lost to James Scullin’s team 22/27.

Division two: Warragul (2) lost to Garfield 66/109.

Ron Collins, Shirley Melsen, Des Stephens and Roy Hammond lost to John Majkut’s team 7/39. Ted lost to Holland, Alan McDonnell, Pat Hammond and Bob Currie lost to Tom Cleary’s team 19/23. Brian Kennedy, Elsie Hefford, Lester Mason and Jim Moyle drew with Steve Whyte’s team 24/24. Kerrie Currie, Gabrielle Draisma, Andy Kidd and Peter Wood lost to Steve Bassed’s team 16/23.

Division three: Warragul (3) defeated Morwell (2) 93/87.

Jean Kydd, Ken Brown, Dave Lawrence and Greg Mitchell defeated B. Tyben’s team 28/10. David Gatewood, Marg Keeffe, Chris Wilkins and Mark Hall defeated D. White’s team 32/21. Peter Howlett, Brian Barby, Sue Haddock and Eric Porter lost to I. Auld’s team 16/28. Flynn Pallot, Bill Dye, Barry Downer and Ken Taylor lost to D. White’s team 17/28.

Division five: Warragul (4) was washed out against Traralgon RSL.

Division six: Warragul (5) defeated Trafalgar (3) 53/30.

Fletcher Pallot, John Bell, Bill Clark and Trevor Crofts defeated N. Moreland’s team 26/13. Gary Thomas, Marj Evison, Michael Royce and Mike Cousens defeated G. Burt’s team 27/17.

In round eight of WGBD pennant on Saturday, Warragul one is away to Morwell, Warragul two is home to Traralgon, Warragul three is away to Longwarry, Warragul four is home to Morwell and Warragul five is away to Longwarry.

Club matches

The finals of the men’s and women’s singles championsh­ips will now be played on Sunday at 10am.

Graeme Davis will play Ken Scammell and Gabrielle Draisma will play Jean Kydd.
