Yarragon v Longwarry Yarragon has fallen marginally short in their chase against Longwarry in round five of Warragul District Cricket Association juniors, as Liam SmithButterworth (38*) almost dragged the Panthers over the line.

Chasing 114, Smith-Butterworth's innings was without proper support, and Longwarry's bowling was too good, restricting the home side to 8-102 off 40 overs.

Clancy Pope (4-15) and Finton Fox (2-8) were sensational, giving their side a crucial victory before Christmas.

Drouin v Hallora Hallora has completed a 113-run drubbing of Drouin, reducing the Hawks to 46 all out in a rampant bowling display.

Jackson Williames (3-1) and Brayden Notman (2-4) took the majority of the wickets as an eight-man Drouin batting line-up could only survive 26.2 overs, falling well short of the Kangas’ 159.

Jindivick v Ellinbank Ellinbank has completed a thrilling chase of Jindivick's total of 96, reaching the runs extremely late, before finishing on 5-100 off their 40 overs.

Jack Logan (30*) batted throughout the innings to see the Bankers home, and was second to only sundries (39).

For the Jumping Jacks, no bowler took multiple wickets. They can take solace in their economy and discipline, however, they didn't have enough runs on the board.

Neerim District v Buln Buln Sam Fusinato’s determined 39* wasn't enough to see Neerim home, with a run out sealing their fate and a 10-run loss.

Fusinato batted through the innings in a terrific manner, reaching 90 of the 100 runs required for victory. However, a late collapse and three wickets to Thomas Kilmartin, stopped this charge and generated a crucial victory for Buln, who will go into the mid-season break full of confidence.

Garfield-Tynong v Western Park Liam O'Connor's 25 was enough for Western Park to chase Garfield-Tynong's 98.

O'Connor was ably supported by several batsmen, who accounted for the runs in a relatively easy manner to see them 9-129 off 40.

For the Titans, Teldford was the pick of the bowlers with 3-5. However, there wasn't the support required to defend the meagre total.

Buln Buln v Longwarry Lachlan Jagoe's 35 continued his solid form but it was the only silver lining for Buln Buln in a crushing defeat against a dominant Longwarry.

Chasing 161, Jagoe had little support as his side crashed to 91 all out off just 33.4 overs.

For the Crows, two wickets each to Connor Ives and Joe Mitchell were the stand-out performances, as Longwarry proved their flag credentials.

Hallora/Ellinbank v Jindivick/Neerim Daniel Simons (54) and Charlie Stern (43) put on a stunning second wicket stand to lead Hallora/Ellinbank to a comfortable victory over Jindivick/Neerim.

Chasing 104, the pair accounted for the runs almost single-handedly, with only a late collapse of 7-39 slightly derailing their side’s day. They were bowled out for 145.

For the away team. Jessica Sanders was outstanding. The left-armer took 4-19 to be the pick of the bowlers, while fellow left-armer Harry Notman supported with 2-25.

Warragul v Drouin Patrick Mulqueen made 48 out of his side's 81 (a total that included 11 extras) to singlehandedly lift his side above Drouin's 75 all out, and to an almost-equally meshed 81.

Mulqueen's innings was made greater by the spread of the Drouin bowling attack, with eight wicket-takers - and only Josh Maric's 2-0 the stand-out - in an admittedly redeeming performance by Drouin despite the thrilling loss.

Garfield-Tynong had the bye.
