Molly and Grant win couple award
Drouin newlyweds Molly and Grant Rogosin are our bridal couple of the year.
The couple was surprised to win and praised their mothers for drumming up enough votes.
Having lived in Warragul prior to their marriage on October 1, 2016, Molly and Grant are now enjoying married life in Drouin.
Grant, a 22-year-old carpenter, and Molly, a 22-year-old event coordinator, were excited to win a night away in Melbourne courtesy of Gippsland Travel.
The couple thanked Gippsland Travel for supporting the Gazette competition with the $300 prize.
“It will be good to get away,” said Grant. “We don’t get away much.”
The competition saw four couples vie for bridal couple of the year. It attracted almost 100 entries, with Molly and Grant receiving just over 40 per cent of the vote.
They narrowly held out the runners-up by eight votes.
Looking back to their wedding day, Molly said “it was the best day of my life”.
“I liked when all the formalities were done, and we could celebrate and party,” added Grant.
When asked to provide advice to couples about to get married, the pair agreed making time to enjoy the day with each other was important.
“The advice to us was try not to get caught up with everything,” said Molly. “Take a step back with your husband and embrace the day together.”
Entry into the Gazette’s bridal couple of the month is easy and free. It is also a great opportunity to share your wedding with the local community.
“A lot of people saw it in the paper,” added Molly.
