Colourful swim at Trafalgar
Trafalgar Swimming Pool was awash with colour as Trafalgar High School students embraced supporting their house for the school’s annual swimming pool recently.
The school is dividided into four houses, each named after outstanding English Naval Officers linked to the battle of Trafalgar.
Finishing in fourth-place was the blue house Nelson, named after Admiral Lord Nelson who won the naval battle off the Cape of Trafalgar in 1805.
Competition was strong in the pool, with only 99-points separating the top three teams.
In third-place was gold house Hawke with 338 points.
Hawke is named after Admiral Lord Hawke who defeated a French fleet at Quiberon Bay in 1759.
Red coloured house Jervis finished second with 366 points.
Jervis is named after Admiral Sir John Jervis, who was the British Commander-in-Chief at the battle off Cape St Vincent.
Leading the way was green coloured Drake house, with 437 points.
The house is named after Sir Frances Drake, who helped defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588 and circumnavigated the world between 1577 and 1580.
