Show program over two days

-

A two day show program for this weekend’s Warragul Show will feature traditional show activities on Saturday, a carnival on Saturday night and a horse program on Sunday.

The success of separating the show and horse show into two separate programs last year has prompted organisers to continue with the same two day format.

Organisers also chose to continue with the combined show days and carnival format, giving patrons a continuous program of events from 9am to after 9pm.

Organisers said the new format was aimed at attracting more people and to provide a continuing program of events and activities for people arriving later on Saturday afternoon.

The Warragul Show will be a showcase of the district’s agricultural strengths while also providing carnival entertainment for families.

Organisers are hoping for fine weather and well-behaved crowds to make this year another successful local event.

There will be entertainment for everyone on Saturday with the municipal band and KC’s School of Dance performing.

Younger show patrons will get the chance to meet some of their super heroes and favourite character princesses who will be mingling through the crowds.

Clowns also will be roving through the crowd, entertaining youngsters and amusing adults.

Melbourne Canine Freestyle will provide a demonstration of their agility dogs and involve onlookers in testing the performance of their dogs.

Bubble soccer, mountain boarding and camel rides will provide demonstrations and opportunities for those who want to be a little more adventurous.

A motorbike spectacular will be staged by Ulysses Motorcycle Club.

A snakes and reptiles display and whip cracking also will keep people entertained.

Saturday’s attractions also will include an extensive line-up that reflects the agricultural diversity of West Gippsland.

Patrons will be able to wander around the showgrounds and have plenty to look at in every corner from the vintage cars and engines display by Baw Baw Engines, to a trades’ display, cattle judging and a visit to the exhibition hall - as well as lots of other judging.

As well as horses and cattle, there will be other animals on show including dairy goats, poultry, rabbits and budgerigars.

Trades sites, food vans and showbag vendors will complete the show day atmosphere.
