Warriors skipper records big century

Having been sent in by the home side Drouin’s batsmen struggled to get going with four of the top five all getting starts before failing to go on with it.

Coming off an unbeaten century in the previous round Steve Austen was again in good touch, finishing the day on 25 not out.

Andrew Downie also provided some late resistance with a handy 25 not out.

Steven McGillivra­y was the pick of the bowlers snaring 3/21 off thirteen tight overs that included six maidens. Other wickets were shared evenly amongst the bowlers.

Match in the balance

Early on it was the Bulls who held the upper hand, taking wickets at regular intervals to have the Kangas all out for 156.

Jeff Ward top scored for the visitors with a defiant 44. Michael Harrison (30) and Daniel Gregory (25) made valuable contributi­ons.

With 12 overs left to play the visitors swung things in their favour, picking up four wickets before stumps. Darren Humphrey led the charge claiming 3/17 off five overs.
