The Coles carpark in Drouin needs repair and more adequate lighting.
On Monday evening around 7.30pm I stepped out of my car at Drouin Coles, locked it, then stepped (unintentionally, I might add) onto the edge of a large pothole and fell, twisting my ankle. Until I was on the ground gasping in pain, I did not see the pothole, given that the carpark lighting was so poor. When I did see it, it was at eye level from my prone position on the tarmac. I lay there on the ground unable to move for several minutes, until two young women came to my aid.
The Coles store manager Anthony was rather amazing. Not only did he bandage my ankle, but did my shopping for me, and had the girls bring my cards and shopping to me. I was even given a bonus chocolate bag as “comfort” food, to help the healing process.
Apparently, Coles do not own the store but rent the premises and it is the responsibility of the building owner to maintain the carpark and provide lighting for the carpark.
