Missed the point

I am writ­ing in re­la­tion to the let­ter from Ni­cholas Peck (Gaz 3/4). I am sorry that Mr Peck does not ap­pre­ci­ate the ‘Where’s the Fund­ing’ cam­paign and that he may have missed the point of what we are try­ing to achieve.

The stud­ies that he refers to have al­ready been com­pleted.

De­spite any cyn­i­cism the rea­son we are draw­ing at­ten­tion to this is­sue is to achieve the best pos­si­ble out­come for our rapidly grow­ing pop­u­la­tion.

There have been many years of care­ful plan­ning and with the May bud­get loom­ing we be­lieve it is time for the gov­ern­ment to de­cide and con­se­quently let the peo­ple of West Gipp­s­land know what the fu­ture for our hos­pi­tal ser­vice holds.

Let’s not turn this into a po­lit­i­cal is­sue to be promised and counter promised in the build up to the Novem­ber elec­tion.
